25 Ton Detroit Hoist Load Brake Repair
Problem: A customer called when they heard squealing and whining coming from the hoist. We opened up the gearbox while investigating and determined the noises were coming from a broken load brake, most likely caused by a shock load.
Solution: We ordered a new load brake from Detroit Hoist and had it express-shipped in. After disassembling the gearbox and removing the damaged parts, we installed the new load brake right there in the field.
End Result: The customer was extremely happy with not only the expedited nature in which we were able to get the hoist repaired; but also that our service tech went the extra mile by cleaning the gearbox and ensuring everything else was in good working order before finishing the job.
