Wall and Column Mounted Jib Crane Configurations
Gorbel wall and column mounted jib cranes are available in two categories: heavy-duty Performance I-Beam jibs for industrial lifting applications, and lighter-capacity Enclosed Track jibs designed for ergonomic and high-cycle use. Select the category that matches your load requirements and application.
Performance I-Beam Jibs — ½ Ton to 5 Ton
Structural I-beam construction for demanding industrial applications. Capacities from ½ ton to 5 tons with spans up to 30 feet. Both the WB100 and WC200 require a structurally adequate wall or column and provide 200° of rotation.
Wall Bracket Jib — WB100
An economical heavy-duty solution for bays and work cells. The WB100 uses a tie rod and bracket fitting design with spans up to 30 feet. A good fit where maximum reach and load capacity are the priority.
Wall Cantilever Jib — WC200
A cantilever design that installs close to the underside of the lowest ceiling obstruction, maximizing hoist lift height. Capacities from ¼ ton to 5 tons with spans up to 20 feet.
Wall Cantilever Work Station Jib — WSJ200
An enclosed track cantilever jib for high-cycle ergonomic applications. Capacities up to 1,000 lbs with spans up to 16 feet. Lighter and easier to rotate than a traditional I-beam jib at comparable spans.
Enclosed Track & Specialty Jibs
Lighter-capacity jibs built for ergonomic material handling, tool suspension, and applications requiring reach around obstacles. All wall or column mounted with 200° rotation unless otherwise noted.
Aluminum Wall Bracket Jib — AL100
Extruded aluminum enclosed track reduces boom dead weight by up to 68%, making the AL100 rotate up to 40% easier than a comparable I-beam jib. Capacities up to 2,000 lbs with spans up to 20 feet.
Wall Mounted Tool Jibs — TSJ50 / TSJ150
Designed for tool suspension and light-duty lifting in tight workspaces. Capacities of 50 lbs and 150 lbs with spans up to 12 feet. Slim bracket profile makes installation between machines practical.
Wall Mounted Articulating Jib — AJ200
A two-arm design that reaches around obstacles, through doorways, and into machine openings where a standard jib can't maneuver. Capacities up to 2,000 lbs with spans up to 16 feet.
Selecting the Right Configuration
Wall and column mounted jib cranes are available in capacities from ¼ ton to 5 tons with spans from 8 to 30 feet. Consider these factors when choosing your configuration:
- Load Capacity: Match the crane's rated capacity to your maximum lift weight, accounting for the hoist and trolley weight.
- Span: Determine the horizontal reach needed to cover your work area. Longer spans are available on I-beam models; enclosed track jibs max out at 16–20 feet.
- Mounting Structure: Both wall and column mounting require a structurally adequate surface. Consult your building drawings or a structural engineer before ordering.
- Ceiling Clearance: The WC200 cantilever design maximizes hoist lift by installing close to the lowest ceiling obstruction. Tie rod designs (WB100, AL100) require clearance above the boom arc.
- Duty Cycle: High-cycle assembly and ergonomic applications are better served by enclosed track jibs (WSJ200, AL100). Heavy industrial lifting with powered hoists calls for an I-beam series.
- Reach Around Obstacles: If your application requires positioning loads into machines, through doorways, or around obstructions, the AJ200 articulating jib is the appropriate choice.
