Example 1 - 5-Ton Bridge Crane with Custom Runway for Water Bottle Manufacturing Company

This 5-ton bridge crane is used to lift molds out of a plastic injection molding machine and allows workers to perform maintenance or make modifications to the mold. The floor space surrounding the mold machine had special space requirements specified by the customer that prevented a standard foundation footing install of the four runway columns. So, our in-house TSOC engineers provided and designed a custom oversized column and base plate solution allowing the install of the columns without the need for footings.

Example 11 - 5 Ton Header-Braced Top Running Bridge Crane

TSOC designed, fabricated, and installed a freestanding overhead bridge crane for a glass handling application. It features a header-braced crane runway, which reduces footing size and increases rigidity. This design allowed us to install the runway columns directly to a 6-inch reinforced floor. Hook coverage was maximized across the width of the building by placing the runway columns next to the building columns. A 4-foot cantilever added at the end of the crane runway allows additional hook coverage at the loading dock door.

Example 12 - 5 Ton Hoist Replacement and Electrification Modernization

• Removed 5-Ton P&H hoist that was having load brake issues and constantly requiring service or breakdown calls.
• Removed open wire conductor on 200 feet of runway and 65 feet of bridge.
• Installed 5-Ton Detroit hoist with custom trolley gauge to replace the outgoing P&H hoist.
• Installed independent push button track and Duct-O-Wire flat cable festoon on the bridge.
• Installed 200 feet of 110V Duct-O-Wire conductor bar on the runway.
• Replaced trolley stops on the bridge and runway end stops at office end of the building.
• Installed Magnetek VFD panel for bridge control and provided the necessary custom conduit setup as the original P&H included bridge, trolley, and hoist contactor controls within the hoist panel.
